Disappointed....

Well I was going to get my promotion today.....but then corporate told us we are closing the doors as of Dec 31st. I can not begin to tell you how disappointing this is and how much I will miss all of my co workers. This truly was a "family" to me and I will be lost without them. Tuesday a liquidation company comes in and we will learn out fate. If they offer enough to keep me there until they close I may stay. I have already put out feelers to other places and hope one pans out. There are a ton of places opening and being built. There was no real explanation given to us other than demographics. We were #2 in the district and #5 operations dept out of 700 stores. They will be closing 155 stores before Jan. That leaves 35 people at my store without work. Even the managers have to move on. I was on my way up and now I have to start over. What a crappy way to start the holidays......
